img_0712The Guthrie County Sheriff’s office continues to receive community support following the tragedies of two Des Moines area police officers that were killed in the line of duty.

Sheriff Marty Arganbright says it’s amazing the support they’ve been and continue to receive from the community, especially from people they never hear from. The Sheriff’s office several times a week receive cookies, pizzas, cards and posters from the public thanking them for their service. Arganbright points out there’s even a restaurant that told them they will pay for him and his deputies meals for a few weeks as their way of saying ‘thank you.’

Last week, the Panorama High School students coordinated a special tribute by forming the thin blue line which shows respect for fallen police officers, and included the Sheriff and some of his deputies as part of that line.

He says they do their jobs everyday and for the most part it goes unnoticed there are people who take their service for granted. However, he tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he and his deputies appreciate all the support they’ve been getting and it makes them feel good about their jobs.
