Former Scranton High School football coach Bob Howard and his Webster City Lynx will try to cap a tremendous season tonight when they face Pella for the Class 3A State title in the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls. Coach Howard guided the Lynx to the 3A District 2 title. That’s the same district Greene County and Perry play in. Webster City is 11-1 overall after winning three close playoff games vs. Norwalk, Boone, and Glenwood. Pella is 12-0 and has won their last 40 games including State title contests in 2014 and ’15.

Coach Howard is seeking his fourth State title after winning three times at Sigourney and Sigourney-Keota. He coached the Scranton Trojans in the late 1970’s and led them to the school’s first playoff berth.

All-District selections for Class 3A District 2 will be released tomorrow on Raccoon Valley Radio and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
