West Central Valley WildcatWest Central Valley School District is under a lockdown until further notice.

Superintendent Dr. David Arnold says they found a note last Friday in the high school commons after school, making an alleged threat that something would happen Monday, October 31st.

Arnold says they have been working with the Stuart Police Department, along with the Guthrie and Dallas County Sheriff’s offices. The high school was searched before the beginning of school on Monday. A deputy is stationed at the Dexter and Stuart Elementary schools as well as the middle school. The Stuart Police Department is at the high school, searching anyone who is entering the building.

So far, Arnold adds, they haven’t found anything. Arnold says when a building is in a lockdown, that means the outside doors are locked and access to the building is limited to those that office personnel knows or individuals that have a reason to be there. Kids and staff are allowed to go to classes and the school day runs as normal.

Anyone with questions may contact any of the attendance centers.
