The Jefferson Rotary Auction is happening later this week.
The event’s location has been moved to The Greene Room events center at Wild Rose. Another new aspect for attendees is the opportunity to have their pictures taken for free with the new Rotary banner on your way into the events center. The Greene County High School Interact Club will also be on hand to take your picture.
The social hour begins at 5:30pm and their silent auction will be underway. A new item is a Chef’s Surprise where businesses have teamed up to put together food packages ranging in price from $20 to $60. A roving chef will let you chose a wooden spoon for $20 and randomly pick a package.
At 6:20 will be the presentation of colors and the singing of the National Anthem, followed by the dinner being served at 6:30pm. The live auction will begin after the dinner with auctioneer David Whitaker. Some of the live auction items include the return of the African safari trip, a special lunch with former Iowa Hawkeye quarterback Chuck Long and a Wild Rose getaway package, plus lots more.
All proceeds from the event will go back to local projects and organizations.
Tickets are $40 per person and can be purchased from any Rotarian. For a list of live auction items, click the link below.
