Football awards will be presented in Jefferson tomorrow night at 6 for the Greene County Rams inside the middle school gym in Jefferson. Its the annual potluck supper and football awards night with head coach Dean Lansman handling emcee duties. The public is invited to bring a dish and table service.

Greene County was 1-8 in 2016 and seventh in Class 3A District 2 among eight teams with a 1-6 record. Among the eight losses were three to teams that qualified for the playoffs and all three were winners in the first round on Oct. 28. Webster City and Boone in 3A and Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) in 2A all won to advance to the quarterfinals on Nov. 4. Those victories raise the record of the Rams’ opponents to 54-30 for the season, the best opponents’ record among the 56 teams in 3A. Marion is second at 54-31.
