Despite an early exit from the postseason the 2016 edition of ADM Tiger volleyball was quite successful overall as the Lady Tigers clawed their way to a 23-11 record, undefeated in the Raccoon River Conference, all while earning class 4A’s 13th place ranking.

Amid all that success was a team filled with talented athletes and among those, four stood out as key individuals who aided in the great season. Those four individuals would be none other than ADM’s four cornerstones in Sami Schepers, Amy Gottschalk, Sydney Bertman and Jordan Hook. The dynamic four helped drive the Lady Tigers on both sides of the ball. Combined those four Lady Tigers aided in over 68% of the teams total kills, over 56% of the teams successful serves, and over 60% of the teams aces for the season. The cornerstone four also put up solid numbers defensively putting up 815 digs, 341 assists, and 107 blocks on the year.

While ADM may be loosing one member of that four in Sydney Bertman, the talented depth of the Lady Tigers will be able to pick right back up where Sydney left off. ADM is returning Schepers, Gottschalk, and Hook for one more season along with bringing back the other Bertman sister in Delaney Bertman with one full season of experience under her belt and will be the one to step up in the assist category as she posted 250 of the teams 603 assists in her freshmen season alone.

A very fine season for those four Lady Tigers among others and was definately noticed by ADM head volleyball coach Mary Beth Scott. Raccoon Valley Radio was able to sit down with coach Scott as she shared her thought’s on how instrumental Schepers, Gottschalk, Bertman, and Hook were to the team here in 2016.

The great news for ADM volleyball is that they only loose three individuals to graduation in Sydney Bertman, Brianna Heimann, and Lauren Mikkelsen allowing the Lady Tigers to gear up with a very similar team chemistry all ready to go next season.
