It was a cool, fall evening in Jefferson, but that didn’t stop hundreds of children and parents from enjoying the Halloween festivities.
Kids enjoyed a variety of games and crafts at the Greene County Community Center with face painting and the very popular pumpkin bowling. Then the entertainment spilled over to the downtown square where Greene County Chamber members and other businesses handed out candy and other goodies to kids for the trick-or-treat-around-the-square. Chamber Director Roccie Hill says it was a tremendous success.
“It was wonderful to see hundreds of children wandering around going up to all the businesses and representatives of various organizations participating in this classic American holiday was just wonderful.”
The Jefferson Library also put on a skit called “The Elves and the Shoemaker”. Kids also received even more treats from the library staff.
