Unfortunately for the West Central Valley Lady Wildcats, their push to continue on through the post season as cut short last night in their regional opener.

Last night the Lady Wildcats took on a very tough Van Meter squad in Van Meter and was on the unfortunate side of a three set to none loss lossing to the Lady Bulldogs 25-14, 25-9, and 25-14.

The Lady Wildcats were held to just six kills for the contest led by seniors Sadie McFarland and Bethany Smith each with two kills a piece. West Central Valley was also low with their aces count totaling just four on the night. Senior Kristin Culp did most of the damage for the Lady Wildcats earning 5 kills, one block, and seven successful serves out of 9 attempts.

With the loss, the Lady Wildcats unfortunately end their 2016 campaign bringing their record to 3-17 overall. For the Van Meter Lady Bulldogs, the win allows them to move on to the next round where they will square off against Tri-Center in Neola with a new found 18-10 record next Monday beginning at 7:00 pm.
