If you’ve been near the south or east side of Pattee Park lately, you’ve likely noticed quite a few changes over the past several weeks.
The expansion project continues to move forward. City Administrator Sven Peterson says despite getting a late start, things are progressing nicely.
“They were pouring some of the trail around the pond out there (Monday). All the fields are seeded, so that’s set. They were seeding some of the areas between the fields and around the edges of the soccer complex. So it’s really moving along. It’s starting to look like something and it’s really exciting to see that come together and come to fruition. Hopefully in the next month or so they’re all finished up and it’ll be set for winter. Hopefully we see lots of green sprouting in the spring.”
The Perry City Council approved the second pay application for the roughly $450,000 project at their meeting Monday.
The goal is to have the soccer fields available for play next fall.
