Greene County Medical Center is looking to expand their pediatric care.

Chief Executive Officer Carl Behne says they are currently working with Guthrie County Hospital to possibly share a pediatric physician to also work at the medical center.

“Certainly we know we have a need for again patients to not travel when they don’t have to and so it creates a lot of burden if a mom or dad has to take a child out of town to receive that level of care.”

Behne points out that their goal is to have a physician at the medical center a couple of days per week, with the idea of growing it to include more days in the next couple of years. He hopes to provide the new service within the next couple of months.
