Next week is National 4-H Week and Greene County 4-H’ers will help celebrate.
Intermediate 4-H’er Joe Thompson with the Scranton Barnstormers Club says the 4-H program is for anyone.
“4-H is really not all about livestock. If you’re into livestock, go ahead and go for it. But sometimes there are other things like art and you can do speeches, all sorts of different things. It’s very educational and it’s a good thing for anyone to be in it.”
Senior 4-H’er Samantha Hardaway with the Greenebrier Club explains how 4-H can help you later in life.
“I encourage anyone to join 4-H because you learn communication skills, you learn writing skills and then just any other project areas you enter, you’re going to learn so much and it definitely benefits you for the future.”
Greene County 4-H’ers are participating in several activities next week including window painting, a contest for wearing 4-H t-shirts, referring a friend to join 4-H and a new fundraiser to collect books and boardgames for New Opportunities.
