The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Board met on Wednesday.
The Board discussed installing surveillance equipment at the city swimming pool. The Board looked over information about a snap camera and motion light system. TechZone also submitted three different quotes with 180-degree cameras with the ability to sync up to a smartphone to review footage. Director Vicky Lautner reported that there has been some attempted vandalism at the pool recently. The Board wanted Lautner to apply for grant funds to purchase surveillance equipment.
The Board then approved a request for the Greene County Relay for Life to use the Greene County Community Center on April 22, 2016 for their main event.
Finally, the Board discussed a request to install equipment at the ice skating rink at Chautauqua Park for skaters. Chris Brown made the request because he felt the current skate park is not being used, due to its location. The Board wanted to ask the donors of the ice skating rink, the Daubendiek’s, to see if they would support such a project.
