Greene County hosts first time opponent Iowa Falls-Alden at Linduska Field tomorrow night in the annual Homecoming football game in Jefferson. The game can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with coverage at 6:30 p.m. and kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

The Cadets and Rams are both 0-2 in Class 3A District 2, meaning one team will leave with their first district victory. Overall, IFA is 2-2 while the Rams are 0-4. The Cadets began the season with one sided non-district victories over Hampton-Dumont (04) and Aplington-Parkersburg (2-2), by a combined 77-6 score, but moving up from 2A to 3A for district football has been a different story for the Cadets. In losses to 3-1 Boone and 4-0 and seventh ranked Gilbert, the Cadets have been out scored 62-18.

The Rams have struggled to be consistent on both sides of the ball in non-district losses to Kuemper Catholic (3-1), Harlan Community (1-3), plus district defeats to Dallas Center-Grimes (3-1) and Webster City (3-1). Staying healthy has also been an issue for Coach Dean Lansman’s team, and it remains to be seen who is and  isn’t in the lineup for tomorrow night’s contest.
