Perry High SchoolThe Perry School District officially started implementing the Teacher Leadership and Compensation program this fall.

Perry opted to wait until the last year possible to implement the state mandated program so that they could take notes from other districts.

Leadership and Mentor Coordinator Shannon Cline says the ultimate goal is to help students.

“The purpose of it is to help teachers gather more strategies to be effective in the classroom, and then that impact trickles down to the students and we like to say that there’s excellent instruction in every class, for every student, every day.  So hopefully, by having us in the classroom we’re able to spread that fantastic teaching to every teacher and in turn have every student grow and achieve to reach their potential.”

We will hear more from Cline and leaders Jennifer Nicholson and Wendy Bollhoefer as we wrap up our conversation with them on today’s Perry Fareway Let’s Talk Dallas County.
