2016-gchs-homecoming-courtThe 2016 Greene County High School homecoming court has been announced.

The candidates for king include Dylan Fouch, Michael Kennedy, Nick Schroeder, Chase Stoline and Marcelo Alarcon. The candidates for queen are Karli Anthofer, Kenna Marquardt, Olivia Hansen, Taylor Wessling and Maddie Schroeder.

Nick Schroeder tells Raccoon Valley Radio what he’s most excited about being on the homecoming court.

“I was pretty happy. I mean we get to miss school all week to go to the middle school and the elementary and we go serve the middle school like food and stuff and then we read books to the elementary (kids) during school.”

Wessling echoes Schroeder’s comments and adds it’s great to help their fellow classmates.

“I think the kids in the lower grades really look up to us and it’s a big opportunity for us to get involved in the community and show the type of people we are.”

The king and queen coronation ceremony will take place at the Greene County Courthouse following the homecoming parade on Friday, September 23rd.
