Voter FraudToday, voters in the Greene County School District are asked to head to the polls for a special election.

Polling locations include those in the Jefferson area are to go to Clover Hall on the fairgrounds, voters in the Grand Junction area will cast their ballots at St. Brigid’s Parish Center, in Rippey the polling location is the library/community center and in Scranton, voting will take place at the City Hall/community center.

The District is proposing a $22.2 million bond referendum to consolidate to two buildings from five buildings, with both located in Jefferson. Bonds will be used to add classrooms onto the current elementary building to convert it into a pre-kindergarten through fourth grade facility and eliminate using the intermediate building in Grand Junction. Bonds will also be used to add onto the current high school and convert it into a fifth through twelfth grade building and eliminate the middle school for classrooms and the current administrative building would be located at the high school as well.

Voters will also decide on who they want to fill a vacancy on the school board. Mike Dennhardt is running against Jonathon Hinote for the available term that ends next year.
