The Greene County Sheriff’s office was advised by a resident in the 1600 block of Neola Avenue of catching a diseased raccoon in a live trap.
A deputy was asked to check the welfare of a male subject in the 300 block of 3rd Street in Rippey. He was found to be safe.
A deputy was advised by Greene County Secondary Roads of locating trash that had been illegally dumped on 260th Street, west of M Avenue. An identifying name was located within the trash.
Deputies were advised of a westbound erratic driver that was approaching Jefferson on old Highway 30. A deputy initiated a traffic stop on that described vehicle and subsequently arrested Travis Austin Smith 25, of Jefferson, on an outstanding Greene County warrant for Domestic Abuse.
A deputy was dispatched to the 2200 block of R Avenue to check the welfare of a home owner that could not be reached by phone. She was found to be safe and discovered the phone was off the hook.
An Iowa State Patrol Officer responded to an abandoned E-911 call that originated and mapped to a residence in the 1900 block of 120th Street. Everything was found to be in order.
A deputy assisted a Jefferson Police Officer with trying to locate a Churdan resident that had not returned a carpet cleaner to the ShopKo Store in Jefferson.
A deputy was advised of a reckless driver driving around Churdan at a high rate of speed. The deputy located the parked vehicle in question, but not the driver at that time.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
