iowa state patrolA suspect is at large after a high speed chase through west central Iowa Sunday night.

Iowa State Patrol Sergeant Nathan Ludwig tells Raccoon Valley Radio that just before 10 p.m., troopers began pursuing a grey 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer on Interstate 80 just east of the Atlantic exit.
The vehicle exited at Adair and was disabled when the Guthrie County Sheriff’s office deployed stop sticks on the west edge of Casey, on White Pole Road.
When the vehicle was disabled, a passenger and driver fled from it. Authorities caught and arrested the passenger, 19 year-old Demetric Thomas, of Atlanta, Georgia. He is charged with interference with official acts.
The driver, who Ludwig says is unknown, is still on the loose, but without a motor vehicle. There is no physical description of the driver at this time, but Ludwig urges area residents to remain aware and call 9-1-1 if they notice anything suspicious.
Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information once it becomes official.
