With Labor Day coming up on Monday, many businesses and offices will be closed in Jefferson.

The Jefferson City Hall, Jefferson Public Library, Jefferson Post Office, Greene County Courthouse, Greene County Chamber, Greene County Extension and Greene County Community Center will all be closed on Monday in observance of the holiday.

Library staff reminds everyone that nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday.

City staff reminds residents that garbage routes will be delayed one day due to the holiday.  Monday’s routes will be done on Tuesday, Tuesday’s routes will be collected on Wednesday, Wednesday’s routes will be pushed back to Thursday and Thursday’s routes will be done on Friday.  Routes will go back to regular schedules the following week.  Residents are also reminded to have their garbage at the curbside by 6am to ensure pick up.
