This school year is looking to be one of expansion for the Panorama Booster Club. In addition to taking on the major task of running the district’s concession stand, they are also looking for more members.
President Jim Holwegner says running the concession stand puts the club on equal financial footing with other area booster clubs. “As a booster club, we got together and started talking about income streams, and it was noted that booster clubs in the surrounding areas all manage the concession stand for the schools. We are one of the few, if not the only one, that didn’t run the concession stand. The school came to us and offered us that opportunity, we voted on it, and we decided to take that on (running the concession stand), knowing it was going to be a big challenge.”
Holwegner adds the club is also hosting their annual membership barbecue beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday, at the football stadium.
He’ll tell us about more news from the Panorama Booster Club today on Let’s Talk Guthrie County. It airs during the 9 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. hours on K107.9 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
