The ADM volleyball team took to the hard wood for the first time in a week yesterday night and sought a win taking on Creston on the road.

The Tigers were coming off of a very successful Newton tournament and was looking for a repeat against the Panthers but it would not come easy. The Lady Tigers raced off to a two set to none lead taking the first two sets 25-16 but saw themselves on the flip side of those scores for sets three and four by the final scores of 16-25 and 17-25 respectively.

It was then down to a decisive set number five and in that final set, the Lady Tigers would end up prevailing. Set number five would come down to the wire but when everything was said and done, ADM took the final set 15-13 to win the match 3-2.

A plethora of Lady Tigers had big performances on the night. Amy Gottschalk led the team in kills with 10 while adding five blocks and one ace to her credit on the night. Sydney Bertman helped put the Lady Tigers in great situations for the majority of the night totaling 18 of the teams 26 totals assists for the contest.

Sophomore Briann Powers put on a great performance erupting for 10 digs and 22 successful serves resulting in a team leading 6 aces on the night.

The Lady Tigers, now 5-1, won’t have long to wait until they get the chance to add to that record as they lay host to a whole host of teams tomorrow in their invitational including Woodward-Granger, Nevada, Perry, Norwalk, along with the opportunity at a rematch with Knoxville. The Lady Tigers and the rest of the teams will kick off the invitational starting at 4:15 tomorrow afternoon.
