The Perry High School swim team will look very familiar to the one that splashed in the pools last year for Head Coach Jean Dowd.  The Jayettes reported 7 swimmers out for the sport when teams reported for practice Monday.  Dowd is confident that Perry will be able to build off the success of last year that saw them win a few duals early in the season.

“We have a really good nucleus back this year.  I think Haley Vaughn is ready to lead the team and has grown into a solid leader for us.  We are also adding some depth with the addition of three girls who are coming off of very good summer swim team performances.  It’s still very early in the process but I really like the makeup of our team.  We will have to overcome numbers but that is something we are used to.”

Breanna Penenger and Anna Ridnour join Haley Vaughn as an experienced trio to lead a group of 4 first year swimmers including summer team standouts Sarah Vaughn and Avery Minor.  Perry opens the season August 25th.
