ifaIowa Finance Authority recently awarded $2.3 million in federal grants for homelessness prevention and assistance initiatives in several Iowa counties.

Greene, Guthrie and Dallas counties were among those areas that received funding through different services. Providers that include Greene County are Domestic Sexual Assault Outreach Center for $70,000 and Assault Care Center Extending Shelter and Support for $89,970. Providers in Dallas County include Central Iowa Shelter and Services for $60,000 and Hawthorn Hill for $28,000, along with Crisis Intervention and Advocacy Center which serves Dallas and Guthrie counties for $72,000.

The purpose of the grants is to help individuals and families regain stability with permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis or homelessness and help those experiencing homelessness move quickly back into stable long-term housing.

The agencies that received funding are located in 16 counties, but will serve all of Iowa’s 99 counties. Click the link below to see the full list of recipients.
