The tradition of excellence for the ADM volleyball team is set and ready to continue on three days into the official 2016 season.

The ADM Lady Tiger volleyball team, under the tutelage of head coach Mary Beth Scott, is seeking their 6th consecutive winning season and aim to make a big splash yet again inside the Raccoon River Conference. Every season brings new challenges to high school coaches and this year is certainly no different for coach Scott who finds her team with an interesting blend of returning experience and youth ranging from last year’s kills leader Sami Schepers to a handful of youth.

Coach Scott spoke with Raccoon Valley Radio about the make up of her 2016 squad and the feel it brings to the new season as the Lady Tigers start day three of official practices.

” It’s kind of a different season. Every year always has a different feel to it and the thing we’ve noticed (in 2016) is almost half our squad is freshmen. Just the realization that while we certainly have a lot of team members coming back but we also have this other half that needs to be taught; kind of their first time through two-a-days. It’s just kind of a different feel in  realizing that you really have to explain and go through things a little differently,” explained coach Scott.

Coach Scott also went on to mention how pleased she is with her team through the first few practices of the season so far. Her Lady Tiger team will be the first of the fall sports teams to see game action when they head to the Newton Invitational on August 23rd.
