The baseball season has come and gone and now we can look back and see how our local teams performed throughout the year. The Guthrie Center Tigers had 104 runs scored, 226 runs allowed and had a record of 9-21. The Pythagorean win calculator says they overperformed with that deficit, in which most teams would have only won five or six games. One probable explanation is the amount of blowouts the team was part of. Several times the Tigers lost by 10 or more runs, and won by such a margin only once. Such lopsided games unbalance the runs scored and runs allowed differential throughout the season.
