Even though the high school State Softball Tournament continues today at Rogers Sports Complex north of Ft. Dodge, the State Baseball Tournament begins late this afternoon and continues tonight with a pair of Class 1A games at Principal Park in Des Moines. Greene County met two of the teams in the field this year and went a combined 0-3 vs. Heart of Iowa Activities Conference member CMB (Maxwell) and Hawkeye 10 member Kuemper Catholic (Carroll). Those two schools meet each other in a 2A quarterfinal set for 7:30 p.m. this Monday night at Principal Park.

Coach Mark Sawhill’s Rams lost to the Raiders twice in conference play by scores of 11-2 and 13-9, and then fell 16-5 to the Knights in the Kuemper Tournament.
