The Perry Jayette softball team will travel to Fort Dodge tomorrow for the state tournament, an experience they qualified for for the first time since 1999.

The Jayettes took second place at state in 1998 and this year is their ninth appearance in the tournament.

The team spent much of Monday getting support from the community.  They made a stop at the Perry Elementary School where the P.A.C.E.S. students cheered them on, Dallas County Hospital hosted the team for lunch and Hy-Vee and Raccoon Valley Radio hosted a cookout and meet and greet Monday evening.

Tomorrow the Jayettes face Oskaloosa in Fort Dodge at the Rogers Complex.  Our own Shawn Kenney will have the play-by-play coverage live on KDLS and RaccoonValleyRadio.com.  First pitch is at 7:30pm Wednesday.
