2016 Greene County High School graduate Daric Whipple will be playing in the Annual Shrine Bowl Football Game on Saturday, July 23 inside the air conditioned UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls. Whipple is a member of the South squad in the North-South contest, which starts at 4 p.m. Whipple earned All-State honors last Fall playing quarterback and defensive back for the Rams. A dual threat at quarterback, Whipple topped the 1,100 yard mark running the football and had over 1,500 yards throwing it while playing in just eight games. Greene County had a 4-5 record in 2015 and Whipple led one of the more high-powered offenses the Rams have produced in the last several seasons.
Pre-purchased tickets are $10 per person and $15 per person at the gate. Tickets in advance are available by emailing Iowa Shrine Game. Children under six are free. Proceeds from the game support The Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
