zach armstrongA Perry man was arrested on several charges after allegedly getting in a fight with a family member and an altercation with police.

According to the Perry Police Department, a Perry man stopped by the police station around 4pm Saturday to report he had been beat up by his son, Zach Alan Armstrong.  Officers attempted to locate the suspect but were unable to immediately do so.  While on patrol later that evening, officers located Armstrong shortly before midnight and chased him on foot until he got away.  A woman called police shortly after midnight to report that Armstrong was at her residence.  Police arrived and spoke with the suspect, who agreed to stay at that residence for the night.

Shortly before 1am, the original victim called police saying Armstrong was attempting to get into his home, in the 800 block of Warford Street, through the back door.  When officers arrived on scene they got into a physical altercation with Armstrong.  He was eventually taken into custody and transported to the Dallas County Hospital via ambulance for treatment for a laceration on his shoulder.

Armstrong faces charges of public intoxication, interference with official acts, assault on a peace officer with injury and first degree harassment.

He was transported to the Dallas County jail where he is being held on a $2,000 bond, his next court date is set for July 28th.
