Sometimes a small token of appreciation can really make a difference.
Perry Chamber Director Bob Wilson and President Lee Coons recently made a few stops to thank those who helped make the 4th of July parade a success. Wilson says they stopped at two local businesses and picked up goodies that were then hand delivered.
“The fire department obviously is huge, they make sure they’re there for basically every event that we have. The police department always makes sure we’re safe and leads our parades. And then we’ve utilized Stokley Lumber’s parking lot for years and years to line up the parade and I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever stopped to say thanks. Tom Burkgren let us use a hayrack for our awesome float. Just things like that make me really realize that we do need to slow down, thank the membership for all they do. We have a great community here, full of great community supporters. Everyone’s willing to pitch in and work together and that’s pretty cool.”
Wilson says the Chamber Board is working to continue to come up with ways to show their appreciation for those who go above and beyond in helping make Perry a great place.
