The Des Moines Area Community College Perry VanKirk Career Academy is hosting a pair of workshops next month to help students learn how to apply for money for their post-secondary education.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) workshops are set for Monday, August 1st from 10am until 2pm and Wednesday, August 3rd from 2-6pm at the local DMACC center.
The FAFSA is a form that is used to determine eligibility for federal grants, loans and work-study opportunities.
Financial aid experts from the Iowa Colleges Access Network will be on hand to answer questions about the form and help students fill out the application.
Anyone planning to attend should bring their social security number, driver’s license and tax forms for both themselves and their parents.
Appointments are not required.
