St. Patrick’s Catholic School’s new principal says he’s excited about the next chapter in his career.

Eddie Diaz has transitioned from being a high school social studies teacher at Perry High School to the new head of Perry’s private school and says he took the position to make more of an impact on area youth.

“I love the impact I’ve been able to make at the public school, I feel very satisfied of what I’ve done but it was that point in my career where I wanted to see what bigger impact I could make.  So St. Patrick’s offers that opportunity as such a small school.  I have a lot of connections, my children go to school there, I was a school board member there for a while there.  So I feel if all goes well I’ll be able to make a positive impact on the students.”
