A former Jefferson resident was sentenced to probation for a domestic abuse incident.
According to court documents, 44 year-old George Joseph Glasgow of Hutchinson, Kansas pled guilty to an amended charge of an aggravated misdemeanor for domestic abuse. He had his two year prison sentenced suspended to seven days with credit for time already served and placed on probation for two years.
The charge stems from an incident shortly before 8am on Monday, June 20th in the 400 block of North West Street in Jefferson. A vehicle pulled into a driveway and Glasgow was engaged in a verbal argument with 34 year-old Freedom Hope Ore also of Hutchinson, Kansas. The argument escalated into a physical fight.
Glasgow was originally charged with a felony for his third or subsequent offense for domestic abuse, but court documents show that the charge was changed to a misdemeanor. He was also ordered to pay court costs and attorney fees. A no contact order was also placed on Glasgow against Ore.
Ore is charged with an aggravated misdemeanor for domestic abuse assault and display or use of a dangerous weapon. Her arraignment hearing is scheduled for July 22nd.
