Two familiar faces will represent the Republican party in November’s general election after Tuesday’s primary in Dallas County.
According to the Secretary of State’s office, Julia Helm will represent the Republican party as the Auditor’s candidate in November and current Board of Supervisors Chairman Mark Hanson has successfully won the Republican nomination in his reelection campaign.
Helm defeated fellow Republican Cate Bryan with 1,166 votes to 636 and Hanson won with 1,052 votes against challengers Douglas Beavers who received 520 votes and Eric Rose who collected 186 votes.
Additionally, Dallas County Republicans chose David Young for the nominee for the 3rd District in the U.S. House of Representatives while Democrats picked Jim Mowrer and Patty Judge earned the majority of votes for the only other contested party race for U.S. Senator.
