A Republican candidate for Dallas County Supervisor says his involvement in the community helps show his dedication.

Doug Beavers says he’s always wanted to run for office.  When asked what he feels the top issues are for the county, Beavers says it all goes back to growth.

“I’m a very outgoing person.  I’m engaged, outgoing, committed, that’s kind of my slogan, my theme for the campaign.  I really enjoy being out in the public, teaching, educating.  I love serving my community (and) do a lot of volunteer things.”

Beavers faces Eric Rose and Mark Hanson in the Republican primary next week.
