Today we observe Memorial Day and therefore several offices and businesses are closed in Jefferson.

Jefferson City Hall, the Greene County Courthouse, the Greene County Chamber office, Greene County Community Center, Greene County Extension office, the Jefferson Public Library and post office are all closed.

The Jefferson Library would like to remind everyone that nothing is due to the library when it is closed in observance of a holiday.

The City would like to remind its citizens that garbage routes will be delayed one day due to the holiday.  That means garbage won’t be picked up today and those routes will be moved to Tuesday, then Tuesday’s routes will be delayed to Wednesday and Wednesday’s routes will be collected on Thursday.  Routes will return to normal the following week.
