Perry’s annual Memorial Day program will take place Monday morning.
A joint effort between Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2060 and American Legion Post 85 of Perry, the program will be held at the Perry Performing Arts Center.
It will feature commemorative readings and musical presentations, along with the firing of traditional rifle volleys and the playing of taps.
Carris Family Funeral Home will continue their tradition of providing coffee and baked goods for attendees.
The public is welcome to attend the free program that starts at 10am.
Additionally, the Minburn American Legion Post 99 will also host a program Monday. It starts at the Brown Cemetery at 9:30am followed by Kimrey Cemetery at 10:00, Elmwood Cemetery at 10:30 and the Raccoon River Bridge at 11am.
The speaker for the programs is Pastor Jim Edmonson with the Washington Chapel Church of Christ and bugler Emily Judd will also perform.
Everyone is invited to attend.
