A free fishing derby will take place Memorial Day at Whiterock Conservancy near Coon Rapids.

Participants are asked to bring their own fishing poles,but will be given a dozen worms to try and catch fish from the Garst Farmhouse ponds. Prizes will be given out throughout the event.

Registration takes place at 3:30 p.m. with the derby lasting from 4-6:30 p.m. Drinking water will be available to participants. Everyone ages 16 and older needs a fishing license to participate.
