petsWith the weather already hitting the 80 degree mark this spring, it’s important that pet owners protect their animals from the scorching elements.

Panora P.E.T.S’ volunteer Linda Shelley says one of the most important things is keeping animals hydrated. “One of the main things is providing plenty of fresh water. If your pets are outside, they need fresh water. I don’t like drinking stale or stagnant water, and I don’t think many other people do — and neither do your pets. One trick that some people with dogs do is put ice cubes in the water bowl and that helps keep it cool.”

Shelley will provide us more pet safety tips today on Let’s Talk Guthrie County. It airs during the 9 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. hours on K107.9 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
