It was a great day on both sides of the ball for the ADM Tiger baseball team as they treated the home town crowd to a home opening win to start the year.

The Tiger baseball team had a well played, efficient night as they laid host to the Earlham Cardinals for ADM’s home opener of the 2016 season. The Tigers allowed just 2 hits while earning 7 hits of their own in rout to a 5-0 shut out victory. The trio of Jack O’Brian, Kade Overton, and Chase Ritchie each contributed at least one RBI to the cause. Chase Ritchie went 1-3 on the night earning his RBI as part of a 3 run 5th inning on a single to right field.

The tandem of O’Brian and Overton each had double duty on the night as both forced two runs each across the plate while combining in a 2 hit shut out. Overton tossed 4 strong innings of work fanning 7 Cardinals while giving up just two hits. On offense Overton went 1-2 with 2 runs batted in off of a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first and a double in the fifth. Jack O’Brian had a multi hit night going 2-3 while bringing in two runs from a ground out RBI in the third and a ringing double in the 5th. O’Brian also pitched 3 scoreless innings of relief, striking out two.

The Tigers now improve to 1-1 on the season with the win . They’ll be back at it again tonight for another home match up against Interstate 35 with first pitch set to commence at 7:30 pm.
