This is the time of year where high school sports overlap. Greene County ended the track & field postseason two days ago, the baseball and softball seasons begin today, and the girls’ golf team enters the postseason today.

Coach Heath Telleen’s girls’ golfers have put together one of the more successful seasons in some time with a record of 16-7-1. Records are put aside today when the Rams and 11 other teams play 18 holes at the Carroll Country Club in a Class 4A Regional tournament. Greene County moved up to 4A this season from 3A, where they’ve played for several years.

Sophomore Rachael Danielson and senior Katelyn Hagen lead the Rams. Danielson enters the Regional with the second best scoring average and Hagen is also a contender. The top four individuals advance to the State Tournament.
