It’s National Police Week and the Greenfield Police Department is taking an opportunity to ask a favor of local residents.
Chief Jesse Lund is reminding citizens to remove junk vehicles from their yards. City code prohibits any vehicles displayed on property that are not roadworthy, including missing parts, unregistered and having flat tires or broken windows.
The Chief says he has a list of about 20 vehicles in violation, and would like to see them moved and the tall grass and weeds around them mowed. He has a truck and trailer to help anyone move a junk vehicle.
Lund adds he would like to see vehicles cleaned up and yards trimmed in time for Greenfield’s Fourth of July celebration.
