Greene County High School senior Maxwell Neese is in the maximum four events at the 2016 Iowa High School Coed State Track & Field Championships at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Neese is about to complete his high school athletic career having qualified for State in track and field all four years in high school and by the time he adds the four events this year, will have competed in 12 events on the Blue Oval.
Neese will run the preliminaries of the 100 and 200 meter dash in Class 3A on Thursday, then run the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 meter relay prelims on Friday. All the finals are on Saturday, and he’s hoping to be busy on the final day. He’s hoping to run good times against the best the state of Iowa has to offer. Neese enters the 100 ranked sixth, the 200 ranked 14th, while the 4 x 100 is ranked number 11, and the 4 x 400 sits 22nd. The eight fastest times from each preliminary advance to the finals.
