The state track and field meet begins tomorrow in Des Moines. The Panorama girls shuttle hurdle relay team of Miranda and Michelle Mleynek, Faith Powell and Morgan Johnk is the probable favorite to win their event, says head coach Greg Thompson. “The shuttle hurdle is going into the state meet with the number one time coming out of state qualifying, so obviously expect some high things out of them. The goal is to keep them calm and relaxed this week. I have a former athlete that was on another state-winning relay team, so I’ll have her talk to them about that.”

The girls run Thursday at 9 a.m.
