Governor Terry Branstad will be in Dallas County for a bill signing Wednesday morning.
He will be holding a public bill signing for Senate File 2336 at the Dallas County Sheriff’s office in Adel. The law is in regards to the statewide interoperable communications system and the expenditure of monies from the E911 emergency communications fund.
It allocates $4.3 million to the Department of Public Safety to fund future network and public safety dispatch center improvements, along with the development of public awareness and educational programs related to the use of 911, educational programs for 911 personnel and upgrades to the local E911 systems.
The bill passed 49-1 in the Iowa Senate and unanimously in the House late last month.
The signing takes place at 9:30am. Our Raccoon Valley Radio network news team will be there and have photos and an update both on-air and online after the event.
