Tonight will be one of the biggest match ups for the ADM boys soccer team this season as they play for the rights to the Raccoon River Conference crown. The Tigers will be heading to Perry tonight to take on the Blue Jays at Dewy Field for the top spot.

The magnitude of tonight’s match up is felt by many across the RRC especially for ADM head soccer coach Bill Shields and his Tiger soccer team. Coach Shields spoke with Raccoon Valley Radio about the importance of tonight’s game and it’s implications.

“We know we’re in a situation where if we win then the conference is split three ways so there’s a lot of stake from our point of view,” stated coach Shields.

Coach Shield also told Raccoon Valley Radio that in order to safely come out on top the Tigers will have to involve quick ball movement and sound defense.

“We need to be first to the ball and we need to defend better than we have in recent games and we have to make sure we move the ball quickly. If we can do that and spread the plays we’ll get a good account of ourselves,” explained coach Shields.

There is certainly no down playing tonight’s match up as coach Shields also told Raccoon Valley Radio just how beneficial it would be not just for conference title but also for sub-state.

The conference title game tonight at Dewy Field will commence at 7:00 pm.
