A Dexter man faces a felony charge of domestic abuse and impeding blood or air flow after allegedly choking a female victim last week.

The Adair County Sheriff’s office says 26 year-old Cody Andrew Carter-Baumgardner was arrested Wednesday afternoon after allegedly choking the female late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning at a residence in the 1400 block of York Avenue.

Carter-Baumgardner was released from the Adair County Jail Thursday after posting a $2,000 bond.

Sheriff’s office documents indicate the victim has requested a no contact order to be placed against Carter-Baumgardner.
