Two people were hurt and cars were severely damaged in a crash Friday in Jefferson.
Police Chief Mark Clouse says the two vehicle accident happened at 3:14pm at 220th and Mulberry streets. Grayce Mary Marsh of Jefferson was heading south on Mulberry Street when she stopped at a stop sign at the intersection. She then proceeded to cross 220th Street when her 2015 Ford Focus struck the passenger side of a 2004 Ford Taurus, driven by Tressa Marie Upton of Des Moines. Both drivers were taken to Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Emergency Medical Services with injuries, the extent of which is unknown at this time. Clouse points out that both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. Both vehicles were considered to be total losses.
Clouse notes a citation for failure to obey a stop sign may be issued to Marsh pending completion of the investigation.
