latinoamericansThose who plan to take part in the Latino Progressive Dinner in Perry later this week need to get signed up soon.

Perry Public Library Director Mary Murphy says she’s looking forward to bringing people together for this new event as part of the Latino Americans: 500 Years of History grant series.

“I think it’s going to be a wonderful, wonderful event that will combine a lot of different activities.  I think it’s a taste of what we are.  Perry is a mixture of a lot of different cultures and you can get a taste of Perry and a taste of art, a taste of music, a taste of dancing.”

It’s an adults only event, but the children won’t be completely left out as Kidz Kamp is being offered at the library.

“For five dollars per child, you can Lego of everything.  Ms. Suzanne (Kestel) is planning this and she has Lego games, Lego activities, Lego movie, everything Lego from 6pm until 9pm.”

Tickets for the dinner are $15 and reservations are needed for both that and Kidz Kamp, so to reserve your spot, stop by the library or call 465-3569.
