weatherA flood warning remains in effect for portions of Dallas County after a wet weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, the warning for the North Raccoon River near Perry, or from the Greene and Dallas county line to Adel, remains in effect until Thursday evening.

As of this morning, in Perry the river is around 0.7 feet above the flood stage of 15 feet and rising. Minor flooding is occurring and expected to continue this week.  Levels are expected to peak tomorrow afternoon at around 1.5 feet above flood stage, which will affect 125th Trail north of Dawson and west of Highway P46.

The National Weather Service reports Perry received nearly 2.25 inches of rain over the weekend, while Guthrie Center saw more than an inch Sunday alone.

Additionally, the Middle Raccoon River near Bayard is 1.8 feet above flood stage but levels are currently receding.
